Spooky Season Has Arrived
October is officially here, meaning it’s time to lean into everything spooky, sweet, and festive. Living at Indigo at McLean Station means you are perfectly positioned to check out the best Halloween events across Tysons, McLean, and the broader Northern Virginia area. All of these fantastic local events take place later this month, giving you plenty of time to assemble the perfect costume!
Perch Fest: Spooky Edition
Keep your eyes on the seasonal calendar for The Perch, the incredible skypark located right down the road. They frequently host seasonal weekend festivals featuring local craft beers, rooftop views, live music, and costume contests that make for a perfect festive evening out with friends.
Cox Farms Fall Festival
If you want the ultimate classic fall experience, take a weekend trip out to the famous Cox Farms Fall Festival. Located just a short drive away, it offers daytime hayrides, pumpkin patches, and cider donuts. If you are looking for something genuinely scary, stick around after dark for their famous Fields of Fear, which transforms the farm into a haunted trail experience.
Halloween Movie Nights & Trivia
Keep an eye out for local pop-up events at the nearby Boro Tysons outdoor plaza and surrounding restaurants, which regularly host outdoor screenings of classic horror movies and Halloween-themed trivia nights throughout the last two weeks of October.
Falls Church Halloween Carnival (Saturday, October 24th)
For an afternoon packed with festive sweet treats and family fun, take a short drive over to the nearby Falls Church Halloween Carnival at Cherry Hill Park. Running from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM, this outdoor neighborhood celebration features classic carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, an obstacle course, and tons of fall snacks. It is completely free and set for for children ages 11 and under accompanied by an adult.
Kids’ Halloween with Wicked at Shipgarten (Sunday, October 25th)
Just a few blocks away, the sprawling outdoor venue Shipgarten is hosting a Kids’ Halloween Celebration inspired by the magic of Wicked. From 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, you can bring your little witches and wizards out for character meet-and-greets, interactive crafts, and a controlled outdoor trick-or-treat experience. Admission and parking are completely free!
Halloween at THE PARC (Saturday, October 31st)
Celebrate Halloween afternoon close to home with Halloween at THE PARC, hosted by the Tysons Community Alliance from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Located right down the street, this rain-or-shine community event is a massive neighborhood favorite featuring secure indoor/outdoor trick-or-treating stations, live musical performances, local food vendors, face painting, and photo ops.
Festival of Frights & Trunk-or-Treat (Saturday, October 31st)
If you want to keep the Halloween night fun rolling, head up the road to the Old Firehouse Center's Festival of Frights in McLean from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This free-admission event brings the local community together for an evening of live music, carnival-style games, costume contests, and a brilliantly decorated multi-vehicle Trunk-or-Treat line.
